Networking to build relationships and strengthen business

November 28, 2012

The article in the November 16, 2012 Midlands Business Journal reminds us of the importance of professional networking. Marketing professionals agree that “networking with other business professionals is one of the best ways to move business forward.” Building relationships opens up contact circles and from there the opportunities grow. Professionals suggest staying away from controversial topics and concentrating on being up-to-date with current affairs and community happenings. It is also suggested that “the power of the referral is the biggest benefit of networking. Referrals multiply with the quality of the relationships that are built.” Getting involved in the local Chamber of Commerce and community groups or finding a professional networking group are both great opportunities for those looking to network.

INDUSTRIAL BUSINESSES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOW RATES, LEASE INCENTIVES!

November 5, 2012

An article in the most recent Midlands Business Journal of November 2, 2012 outlined reasons that local businesses might be considering expansions and possible job growth.   Positive absorption of industrial projects continues to occur and there is a challenge to find available quality space for new companies looking to relocate.  Financing package terms can be exceptional if
a business has a good business plan, a substantial owner contribution and a strong debt coverage projection.  Jeff Konen of PropertyBanc mentions that owner build-out commitment and free rent periods continue to be two major lease discussion points.  Tenant lease rates continue to remain extremely low and businesses are looking for the right location with adaptability of existing space that fits their needs.
