Many retail strip malls and shopping centers are seeing a significant drop in vacancy rates to levels not seen since 2005, according to an article in the Omaha World Herald. High traffic corridors are still in high demand for businesses looking to expand or relocate. Another interesting point has to do with the mix of tenants going into retail centers. Doctors, clinics and service businesses are choosing to locate in these sites that are considered more accessible than traditional locations. All of this is contributing to higher occupancy rates in most areas of the metro.
